Ragasanjana Manyam is a Senior at DeBakey High School in Houston, Texas who aims toward a future in cancer research. She is passionate about medical research and advocating against policies that exacerbate inequity. She has served as a City Youth Ambassador for two years and as a Co-Chair of the Disparities Committee for one year. She and her team worked with the Mayor's Office of Education to spread awareness about housing disparities and homelessness and increase the youth voice within the City Council. She is a Junior Director at the Home Run Hitters International organization and works with people with disabilities to increase their ease of interaction. She looked into furthering her passion for research through various research programs like the BCM BRITE Program and presented research about neutrophils and nanotechnology as a way to increase accuracy for targeted drug delivery in breast tumors. She also teaches her native language Telugu at the Chinmaya Mission school and is working on four textbooks to teach children the language.
